We work to ensure you always have a means to train with us!

Our work-trade system ensures you can always train with us through your “sweat-equity.”

Examples of work you may be expected to perform include, but are not limited to:

  • Working the ticket booth at events, classes, or other training.

  • Working clean-up at events, classes, or other training.

  • Being an extra in a video production.

  • Being a cameraman in a video production.

  • Being required to attend business meetings. (If the job is business oriented)

  • or other similar activities.

Here is how work-trade would go down:

  • You ask to open a work-trade account with us.

  • We open an account and supply you with a punch card.

  • You go to the website on the card and see what work-trade jobs are available.

  • On that page, you will sign up for one of the available jobs.

    • You will receive an email with details specific to the job you signed up for.

    • DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ANY JOBS IF YOU ARE IN THE INSTRUCTOR APPRENTICE PROGRAM.

  • When you arrive at the job site at the specified time, you will sign in and work the job.

  • After the job is completed, or the work day is done, your hours will be tallied and your card punched representing each hour you worked.

    • Breaks and meal times to be assigned based on the work day For example:

      • If the work-trade job is for a full day (sunup to sundown): you will have 3 meal breaks and scheduled rest breaks every hour lasting 15 minutes each. (If the job consists of directly dealing with customers, there may be times where there is a rush, and such breaks may be missed. Times like this should be rare, but all time missed will be made up when time permits and still added to your total time worked that day. ie, not lost)

    • You can redeem your punch card at any time for discounts on classes, seminars, and workshops on a punch-per-hour basis. If the class is three hours long and your card has three punches on it, congratulations! Your class is free. If you card has 4 punches on it and the seminar is 5 hours long, you only pay for one hour’s worth of that seminar.

      • You can choose when and where you spend your banked hours with us, but only applies to instruction. Any gear and supplies specific to that class, seminar, or workshop, must be compensated with cash or barter items. (basket materials, etc…)

Our Barter System ensures you get to train with us through your “other items” of worth.

Examples of acceptable items with which to barter include, but are not limited to:

  • Groceries: (Homemade or farm/homestead obtained hold extra value)

    • Eggs

    • Bread

    • Meat: Beef, Venison, etc…

    • Honey and/or Beeswax

  • Lightly loved gear
    (Again, homemade holds extra value)

    • Bags, Backpacks, etc…

    • Knives, Axes, Hatchets

The goal with bartering with us is to get to $10 increments as much as possible.
